What is ELDT range training?

The range component addresses the applicable vehicle-control curriculum for your license class or endorsement. A qualified instructor evaluates performance and documents proficiency. Pre-trip study and independent vehicle familiarization do not by themselves establish ELDT completion.

What is ELDT public-road training?

The public-road component addresses applicable safe commercial-vehicle operation in traffic. It is completed in person with an appropriate provider and vehicle. Completing an online theory course does not complete this driving component.

Truck rental and Texas DPS testing

A test vehicle rental provides vehicle use for a skills-test appointment; it does not certify ELDT completion. Texas DPS administers and scores its skills tests. Ask about Class A, Class B, passenger or school bus vehicle configuration, appointment location, rental availability and fuel before reserving.

Planning your ELDT range and public-road training

If you are searching for ELDT training online, distinguish the theory course from in-person driving. ELDT Theory Now is preparing online ELDT theory course paths for Class A, Class B, upgrades and applicable endorsements. Register to enroll. Each theory course is $75 with 30-day access from activation. The public course outlines explain the planned topics and assessment process.

Does online ELDT include behind-the-wheel training?

No. Online theory does not provide the required range or public-road instruction. Covered Class A, Class B, Passenger and School Bus applicants must complete the applicable driving curriculum with a provider listed in FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry. The provider assesses and documents proficiency. First-time HazMat ELDT is theory only.

Finding ELDT behind-the-wheel training in Texas

For in-person ELDT range and road questions, see Get Your CDL Quick in Royse City, serving drivers from across Texas. Confirm your licensing path, eligibility, availability and separate service terms. An online theory purchase does not automatically include truck rental or a driving appointment.

Can ELDT or a CDL be free?

Do not assume an advertised free course covers every licensing expense. A complimentary driving offer may require qualifying purchases and eligibility. Check the provider’s written terms. Neither online theory nor vehicle rental guarantees a CDL, passing result or employment.
